Over the past 25 years the island has been a haven for backpackers and adventurous holiday makers, but recently we have been seeing a change - more people are coming with their suitcases and staying in the more up market resorts and hotels the island now has to offer. Since this change started, we are seeing more exclusive restaurants, bars, boutiques and spas.Yet it is in no way affecting the charm on this magical island as you can still find many places on the island that are still as they were many years ago.
Apart from the islands fascinating natural places to visit, we also have the world famous full moon party which is one of the world’s top party destinations. This party is held every month on every full moon and is a must for all party lovers who travel South East Asia. The party is very well organized and again in no way affects the peace and tranquility of the island. The venue for this event is on Haad Rin beach, one of the many stunning beaches you will find here.
King Chulalongkorn Rama V was a frequent visitor to the island - coming 14 times. He would always visit our very famous waterfall Thaan Sadet. It was here he would find peace and happiness. For as long as local people can remember they will tell you the water is sacred and blessed.
It is our pleasure and honour to invite you to the Island of Koh Phangan and we hope you enjoy this wonderful place packed with everything you expect from a holiday, mixed with true traditional Thai culture.
TOUR KOH PHANGAN...!!
Thongsala is situated in the southwest of Koh Phangan, it is the largest community of the island and here you will find the main port of Koh Phangan where many of the boats arrive. The boats will dock here from Surattani, Koh Tao and koh Samui. If you arrive at this port you will be welcomed by many Thai people offering a range of accommodation and also taxis to any destination.
The town also has many banks and ATM machines, telephone, internet and travel shops which come in very handy, the people who work in these places are ever willing to help. Also shopping for souvenirs, clothes or food you will find it here. This is not a place of wild night life quite the opposite; you do have a good selection of restaurants and bars to suite all tastes.
Thongsala also has three boxing stadiums for you to choose from, so if you are only here for a few days you can still catch this amazing sport which never fails to surprise. You will also find the Municipal office, Police station, hospital and post office as well as one of the best known Temples on the island, Wat Ratcharoen. This small island is about 400 meters from the Phangan mainland. The best way to access this is from the beach of Ao nai wok, a kyak is the best form of transport and at only 15 minutes it is just enough exercise anyone needs when you’re on holiday.
On the island it self is some old ruins from past travelers that set up home here back in 1 986.They named there island Robinson Crusoe after the famous books of being lost in paradise. Unlike the book you will not be chased by cannibals - but you will certainly get the feeling of being alone as to this date no one really lives here.
